Letting Dreams Soar ~ a Personal Request

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and to even be interested in my little blog. It’s given me a wonderful opportunity to practice my writing! I know lately that I haven't been blogging as often, but I need to concentrate on my school, and acting. So- if you didn't know, I'm in high-school still (and my sister, who is the co-owner of our shop, but doesn't blog, is also in school). Our original idea with joining Etsy was to be able to physically express ourselves, and see if anyone was interested in our products (which, we just added some new ones, and a blanket is coming soon!). We were also hoping to be able to earn some money to go toward our respective interests- acting and dancing. Which have costs, and having five children (and a single mother)... well, let's just say- either we earn some, or we don't do it.:) While Etsy hasn't gone too well, it is fun, and we will continue promoting and creating. Recently I had the opportunity to attend a search and audition for a summer competition for acting and singing. I received a callback, and was accepted from among two hundred plus audionees (or whatever you call them!) from ages 4-50. I am in the process of applying for a scholarship, but need to raise over $6,000 for transport, accommodations, competition fees, food, car, etc. You can visit the website here- http://amtcworld.com. I am praying that I will be able to win a scholarship, and be able to compete- because there will be scouts from Fox, Disney, Sony and other "big" name companies there. For me, this is a huge step toward the future of my career, if I can go. If possible, I am asking you to help through one of my many fundraisers (other than Etsy!)- which is selling magazines online for less than the newsstand prices. If you buy magazines at all, I would encourage you to take a look, because there are hundreds of titles at great prices! 1. Sarah, I hope you sell some magazines. Sorry I can't buy any this time. We both lost our jobs and etsy isn't working too well for me either. Still, I applaud you for your initiative and hard work. Keep the faith!
